Steven and Tim are award-winning screenwriters/ playwrights/ producers and cofounders of New York City based Arkanjel Productions. Their work explores universal themes found within the human condition through the intimacies of relationships—and how they manifest our core emotions. It also pursues an ongoing search for issues that are inexorably tied to important societal concerns. Their feature film, The Event—which took on the issue of assisted suicide—starred Academy Award winners Olympia Dukakis and Sarah Polley, as well as Parker Posey, and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The film won numerous festival awards and was released domestically and internationally.

Vicki McCarty is president of Covington International, a talent management and indie film production company. As executive producer her first film, The Event, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, followed by the Berlin Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival. 3 Needles, starring Lucy Liu, Sandra Oh, Stockard Channing, and Chloe Sevigny received the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Ribbon of Hope Award for Excellence after its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by the US premiere at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. Cloudburst, starring Oscar winners Brenda Fricker and Olympia Dukakis, garnered numerous festival awards for Best Feature, Director, and Actor. In television, Ms. McCarty was executive producer on the award-winning Canadian mini-series Sex and Violence.

Legal

We have engaged the prestigious law firm RAMO LAW, with MARY TRIER, senior associate, as our primary point of contact. Her legal work specializes in production companies and creators of quality film and television, and she expertly guides clients through development to completion of a project. Mary was named one of Variety’s “Hollywood New Leaders of 2022” and was selected as a “Rising Star” in Super Lawyers Magazine from 2021–2023. She is licensed in both California and Illinois.

Line producer

BRETT HAYS is an accomplished line producer / producer with a reputation for creating high quality productions that entertain and inspire. He has worked on a wide range of movies and television shows including working with David Fincher, Tyler Perry, and A24. He and his producing partners established Flyover Film Studios in 2023 to revolutionize filmmaking in Central Illinois. He is an expert on Illinois Film Tax credits. His latest project, Albany Road, won Best TV Movie from the African American Film Critics Association and the Satellite TV Award for Best Television Movie.
